At New Ford Academy, we strongly believe that an Art curriculum should engage, inspire, support and challenge pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create pupils own works of art, craft and design.

We believe that everyone is capable of being an artist regardless of age, gender or ability.

Children will learn how to draw, paint, sculpt, print and explore the art, craft and design techniques of other artists.

Art and Design at New Ford Academy is taught using clear, progressive planning derived from the National Curriculum.

This has been “mapped” across the school ensuring that children retain key knowledge and skills (also known as sticky knowledge/ skills)  whilst also ensuring that this is built upon from what has been taught before, progressing learning towards clearly defined end points.
