Baking Jam Tarts October 2023
As part of our Nursery Rhyme topic, the children have enjoyed a baking activity this week to link with the rhyme 'The Queen of Hearts'. The children learned about which ingredients were needed for the recipe and we explored how they felt when we mixed them together to make the pastry. We made a batch that we could play with, and another batch that was baked in the oven.
We looked at how the pastry had changed and then added jam. We also decorated crowns to wear whilst we ate the jam tarts - They were delicious!
