Guided reading sessions give the children the opportunity to develop their reading skills through the use high quality texts that are used within the Literacy lessons. They have the opportunity to work both with a teacher and independently for at least one hour each week. 

 

Guided reading sessions are planned carefully to ensure that children’s comprehension and higher order reading skills are developed and this includes the development of high quality vocabulary.
