The nursery children have been looking at different objects from the past and have matched them to how these objects look now, in the present. 

We compared a hot water bottle that is used now to the bed warmers from the past. We looked at an old kettle and then discussed how this is different to our modern day kettles.

We shared how the carpet beater works and asked the children to talk about how their carpets are cleaned at home. The children showed a real interest in looking at and holding/pretending to use these objects and looking at how they look so different in our modern world.
