Reading at Home

In EYFS, children are expected to read three times per week.  It is really important that children read this amount of times as it helps them to become fluent and efficient readers.  (Please see the reading bookmark, in the 'Resources' section, for tips on how to further support reading through asking questions.)

Children have a reading diary which is part of the communication between home and school.  This is used to document when your child has read, which book your child has read, and how your child has read.

Children in EYFS also take a pupil choice book home, which is designed for an adult to read and share with their child.
