Should everyone learn some sign language?

This week’s Wednesday assembly began with feedback from our school council. Our school regularly supports charities such as children in need, sport relief, comic relief and our Stoke Food bank. The school council want to support a child choice charity and invited suggestions from the children.

There were so many good ideas the next step was to ask our children to vote on the type of charity they wanted to explore further. The results were shared in our assembly and Animal charities chosen.

There are many charities that help people with disabilities and that is why we looked at a complimentary theme of how accessible our world is Today, with a focus on sign language in the remainder of our assembly. We also discussed school and British values linked to respect empathy and inclusion.
