Y5 Rymans Project & Staffs Uni Visit

All of the year 5 children took part in an Enterprise Event hosted by the Inspirational Learning Group, one of the links we've developed through our Career Provision.

As the event was sponsored by Rymans, the children were given the task to create a new range of stationary products for them. This included designing three products, creating a group name, a new mascot to promote their product, a story board to say how it became a mascot and a full advertising campaign consisting of posters and you tube adverts.

The Inspirational Learning Group worked collectively with ourselves to develop the children's entrepreneurial and employment skills.

Two teams were selected to represent the school in a finals competition against other local schools at Staffordshire University, with the winning team getting the chance to have their products made to be sold in Rymans stores.

Our children demonstrated  a high standard of collaboration, problem solving and leadership skills as they presented their projects in front of a panel of professionals.

Our group ended up as regional runners up and the skills that they were taught over the two month period will support them in future career pathways that they might take.

The experience supported numerous Gatsby bench marks supporting the school in our ambition to provide the best careers provision that we can.
