The children from our school council discussed and selected French as the Modern Foreign language taught at our school. This decision was made due to our neighbouring schools teaching French and to ensure preparedness for KS3.

French is currently taught in KS2 for a minimum of 30 minutes per week or the equivalent.

At New Ford, we plan and deliver our French lessons using the Language Angels resource. Each lesson consists of a speaking, listening, reading and writing element. There are also end of unit assessments to be completed each half term.

In French, as with all subjects, the curriculum is adapted as appropriate to ensure that all children have the same opportunities to achieve the learning objectives.
