Geography
Geography develops our pupils’ understanding of the world in which they live through the study of location, place, human and physical features, cultures and importantly, the environment.
Geography gives our pupils scope to understand their role within the world, by exploring their locality and considering our global impact.
The subject also encourages children to learn through experience, particularly through practical and fieldwork activities.
Geography provides a strong bond between the social and physical sciences and ensures links are made between learning in maths, history, science, art and design and British Values.
At New Ford Academy we give every child the opportunity to practise their geographical skills, including map work and fieldwork. Each year group carries out a local area study which helps our pupils gain a greater understanding of our community in the past and present day.
Our pupils will acquire knowledge and practical skills that will aid them throughout their life.
