Bonfire Night
This Weekβs Learning Focus: Bonfire Night π This week we have been learning all about Bonfire Night! We listened to the story of Guy Fawkes and discovered why we celebrate Bonfire Night every year. The children loved creating their own firework pictures using a range of materials and colours to make sparkling, explosive effects! We also made our very own edible sparklers β they were a big hit and lots of fun to make (and eat!). Mrs Mandley brought a real sparkler into school for us to see! We talked about how sparklers work, what they look like when lit, and how important it is to use them safely. We also discussed watching different types of fireworks and shared our ideas about how to keep safe during Bonfire Night celebrations. To link with our topic, we have been learning about people who help us, focusing on the important work of the fire brigade. We talked about how firefighters keep us safe and what to do in an emergency. Itβs been a busy, exciting week full of creativity, history, and safety learning! π₯π¨βππ
