Bonfire Night

In Nursery this week we have been learning about Bonfire Night.  We talked about the fireworks we had seen, including the different colours they were and the noises they made.  We shared our thoughts, feelings and experiences and talked about how some of us celebrate Bonfire Night with our families and in the community.

We learned about the firework code and how to stay safe.

We produced some fabulous firework paintings using different coloured paint and a fork to make the different exploding patterns.

Our adults also brought a sparkler into school and lit it outside.  It was exciting to see the sparks and patterns it made in the air!

Some of our children's comments about Bonfire Night and fireworks:

Lily - 'It's Bonfire Night.'

Jack - 'I saw them at the field.  There were big bangs!'

Florence - 'I saw them at Nanny's.  They were big, orange, green and yellow.'

Bobby - 'I don't like the big bangs.'
