The Nursery children have been learning about the story 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears'.  We decided to make our own porridge to taste, just like the Three bears made. We looked at the porridge oats, we added milk and then we talked about how we could warm the porridge up. The children said it needed to go in the oven. We discussed how we could use the Microwave to warm the milk and porridge oats up, which is what we did. 

The children made the following comments, 

'The oats look like seeds'.

'We need to cook the oats before we can eat it'. 

'It isn't hard anymore it has gone soft'. 

Once the porridge was cooked the children were able to eat it. 

'It tastes creamy like butter'.

'It tastes yummy'.

'It tastes very nice'. 

Whilst we were eating our porridge we decided that it 'wasn't too hot, it wasn't too cold, it was just right!'. We ate it all up and some children asked for some more!!
