Multicultural & Black History Opportunities

Respect is a key school and British value and here at New Ford we promote diversity and multicultural awareness in a variety of ways through our curriculum.

We also have themed school dinners to make links to multi-cultural themes and festivals and celebrate diversity and opportunities to try new culinary experiences.

For example we have a Chinese twist to our school menu to

coincide with the Chinese New Year.

Each year our school recognises and celebrates Black History through assemblies and other activities.

We ensure that famous historical figures and contemporary black role models are signposted and included within out National Curriculum.

See below for some examples:

In 2025 our children were introduced to Black History Month through a whole-school assembly, where they learned about its importance and significance.

In their classes, the children have been busy researching and celebrating the achievements of key figures from history, deepening their understanding and appreciation of the contributions made by Black individuals across society.
