Should Primary school pupils take tests?

This week’s Wednesday assembly looked at ideas connected with children taking tests to show what they have learned, alongside our brief look at items in the news as usual and some current events.

We thought about how tests can be a part of everyday life from health check ups to driving a car.

We also thought in the assembly about how children’s learning takes place through out the year and how teachers use lots of different ways to find out about what children know and can do at New Ford and tests are just one part of this.

Our children voted as to how valuable they felt tests were in achieving their goals and showing what they can do.
