Stoke on Trent 100 Years

We have been celebrating Stoke-on-Trent's centenary in Nursery this week. It is a century since King George V declared it a city on 5 June 1925, in recognition of the area's contribution to the pottery industry. To mark the occasion, we have been decorating paper plates in the style of Emma Bridgewater; enjoying tasting a Stoke-on-Trent delicacy: oatcakes; and learning the song 'Never Forget', originally performed by Take That, and Robbie Williams. The whole school met together at the end of the day to perform the song that they had been learning. It was a wonderful day - 'Happy Birthday' Stoke-on-Trent!
