Children enjoyed learning about Volcanoes and Earthquakes as part of their recovery curriculum.

What happened on our Enrichment Day

Over the last few weeks, Year 4 have been learning about Volcanoes and Earthquakes as part of their recovery curriculum.  On Thursday 8th October, we managed to celebrate their hard work in Geography, Art and Design and Technology by making our very own volcanoes erupt!  By using a mixture of bicarbonate soda and vinegar, the children turned their models into active volcanoes and together we made our own Ring of Fire.

Skills we developed as part of this experience include, learning about volcanoes in Geography, we also developed our skills in Design and Technology and Art.  We learnt how to plan, produce and review a design that we made and also learnt how to use varying brush strokes to paint our design as effectively as possible.

We made cross-curricular links with Geography, Art and Design and Technology.
