We re-enacted the story of Beowulf and created our own version of Grendel.  We became archaeologists to dig up some artefacts, before deciding whether they were Anglo-Saxon or modern.  In the afternoon, we learned about the food that Anglo-Saxons would have eaten, we looked at the Anglo- Saxon alphabet (runes) and tried to write our own messages.  We enjoyed playing typical Anglo-Saxon games.
