Careers' Day 17th July 2024

Mr Roberts and Mr Kendrick visited New Ford as a part of our careers day on Tuesday. They talked to the children about careers in engineering - sharing stories about work they had completed on the channel tunnel, rides at Alton Towers and more. The children enjoyed learning about how a career in engineering helps ensure things work and are able to be fixed. We then made our own safety jacket for an egg to protect the shell from breaking, which encouraged them to think critically like an engineer.

Dave Condliffe visited as a part of our careers day to talk to the children about careers working outside with nature. Dave shared some photos with the children of some of the wildlife that he has been lucky enough to see whilst working outside, and discussed some of the potential jobs that would enable you to spend more time outside. The children really enjoyed this and left feeling inspired.
