Comic Relief, Toilet Twinning
2023/2024
Our children came in Non-school Uniform to raise money for Comic Relief and some other world wide charities as chosen by the school Council this year
Well done and Thank you to everyone who took part - we raised a total of £242
Of that money the school council decided to use the money to bless the following charities and organisations.
£180 to Toilet Twinning UK to sponsor 3 toilets and the remainder of funds raised were given direct to Comic Relief.
Toilet Twinning is part of Tear Fund charity that raises funds by inviting people to donate and "twin" their toilet with one elsewhere in the world including parts of Asia and Africa. The money raised not only funds a toilet, but also helps support community education and sanitation programs, teaching about bathroom hygiene, sanitation, the connection between poor hygiene and illness.
The initiative helps to transform lives in some of the poorest places on the planet and the school council felt it was in keeping with the aims and objectives of Comic relief, whilst enabling our children to have more ownership over where their money raised by the children goes to.
Our children have chosen to twin with a toilet in in Uganda, Nepal and Mozambique and we can locate exactly where these are to make links with Geography too.
