Daily Routines

Daily Routines

For our EYFS classes, the school day starts at 9.00am and children enter the school via their classroom door between 8.50am and 9.00am.  Doors close, and external EYFS gates are locked at 9.00am, so anyone arriving after this time will need to report to the school office.

Registration starts at 9.00am.

The children have a phonics session every day in the Nursery and Reception classes, where they learn about letters and sounds, and how to apply this to the early stages of reading and writing.  More detailed information can be found in the Phonics section of our website.

Throughout each day, children experience shared learning (whole class), guided group learning led by adults, and also independent learning in our continuous provision, linked to all areas of the EYFS curriculum.  Children experience a balance of activities that are led by adults and also initiated by themselves, indoors and out.  For more information on our topics, and learning activities, please view the curriculum section and class pages on our school website.

For our part-time Nursery children, the school day finishes at 12.00pm.

For all of our full time children, lunchtime takes place from 11.45-12.45.  Children have the option to have a school lunch or bring a packed lunch.  Reception children are entitled to a daily free school meal as part of the ‘Universal Free School Meals’ scheme.  Menus are available so that you can see the range of healthy meals that are cooked on site for our children.

The children also have free fresh fruit and milk daily, and they always have access to fresh water.

The school day for our full time Nursery and Reception children finishes at 3.20pm.  Children are collected from their classroom doors.
