Household objects from the past - October 2022

We have been learning about the past, and in particular, objects that people would have used in their homes.  To link with our topic on traditional tales, we explored what life would have been like for the three bears, living in their cottage without electricity.  We looked at lots of different artefacts and tried to work out what they were, including bed warmers and bed warming pans, a wooden clothes horse, a lamp, a carpet beater and a posser that was used to wash clothes.  Some of the objects that we learned about were over 100 years old!
