In the Community
At New Ford we encourage the children to not only explore, but to also contribute to the local community.
Our Reception and Year One children regularly visit our local care home. Both the children and the residents really enjoy the sessions. The children have gained a real respect for the residents whilst building confidence, co-ordination and social skills.
We also took part in the BBC Radio Stoke Clean Start Initiative litter picking around the school grounds and in the local community.
Local Community Care Home
As part of our focus on pupil’s Mental Health and Well-being in the autumn term 2020, the children have been looking at ways in which they can connect with others.
Due to the Covid Pandemic, usual visits to the local care home have not been possible so children have written letters to the residents instead. Here are some examples below.
