Is it important to learn about every-one's rights?

During this week’s Wednesday assembly, we asked the question “Is it important to learn about everyone’s rights? We thought about ways that we are the same, and ways that we are different. We talked about how we are all special and have rights, so that we can all be treated fairly.

We learned about Nelson Mandela, who was a world-famous human rights activist. We learned about how he tried to help people who were being treated unfairly, by asking for change.

We discussed our right to learn; our right to be treated fairly, our right to be kept safe from harm, and our right to be heard. Our children then voted to share their views on this question.
