Making Jam Tarts October 2022
'The nursery children have been learning the rhyme 'The Queen of Hearts'. We baked some jam tarts, just like the Queen. We mixed the flour and butter together with our fingers and then helped to stir in the egg.
We then all had our own piece of pastry mix to roll and squeeze and cut into jam tarts.
Our jam tart cases were cooked in school, the children then added jam to the cases and then enjoyed eating them all up, before the Knave of Hearts could come along and take them!'
