Music for Life
Music for Life works in partnership with schools to support them in offering young people opportunities to develop musical skills. Lessons are available to pupils from Y3-6 to learn a range of musical instruments. There is a termly fee which covers the cost of the specialist teacher who provides expert guidance in the form of 1-to-1 lessons or lessons in pairs.
Here at New Ford Academy we are delighted to offer peripatetic music lessons in school from pupils in year 2 to year 6.
Music teachers from ‘Music For Life’ and City Music attend school to offer lessons during the school day. We currently have pupils learning the violin, guitar, keyboard and piano.
Lessons are offered to all pupils and as a school we aim to make them as cost effective as possible by subsidising each pupil’s lessons.
Pupils who are in receipt of pupil premium funding can also have their music lessons funded this way with no extra cost to parents or carers. We are also able to loan most instruments to our pupils direct from school free of charge.
