New Ford Choir Club

Choir Club is for children in Key Stage 1

The children at New Ford Academy have the fantastic opportunity to take part in our  afterschool Choir Club. Here the children suggest songs and dances  for us to learn, developing their self esteem, confidence and  the relationships between children across different year groups.

The children also have the opportunity to perform in front of the rest of the school and parents during our school fayre.  Our school choir creates the ‘feel good factor’ and promotes positive well being where children enjoy expressing themselves. The children also develop a fantastic sense of ownership and are very proud at what they achieve.

On Wednesday 6th December 2023, our Key Stage 1 choir went to perform at Royal Stoke hospital, to spread some Christmas Cheer. They sang their hearts out and were a credit to the school. Mrs Dodd and Miss Ford were so proud of them. The children also sung at our Christmas fayre in the afternoon. What an absolute credit to our school they are. Well done everyone.

In March 2023 the choir took part in our school production of 'Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour dreamcoat!' The children were absolutely fabulous and sang with the children in the Musical Drama club. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and showed real resilience performing to a packed hall of parents and carers. We definitely have budding singers, dancers and actors in KS1 who we are sure will be on the stage again soon! Mrs Dodd is so proud of you all!

Just before Christmas s our Key Stage 1 choir went to visit some residents of our local community at Norton Football club. We sang four Christmas songs and wished everyone a very merry Christmas! We had a lovely time and were treated to some chocolate cake and custard!

At our Christmas Fayre we enjoyed singing some Christmas songs we have been learning.

We will also be performing for our parents and carers at our last club this term on Tuesday 6th December 2022 and for older members of our community at Norton Cricket football club on Thursday 15th December 2022.

Since September 2022 our key stage 1 choir have been learning some harvest songs.

'Cauliflowers fluffy and Cabbages green' is our favourite harvest song!

After October half term we look forward to learning some Christmas carols and songs in preparation for performing in school and in our community.
