Remembrance Day

On Tuesday 11th November, we held a special Remembrance Day full of a range of activities. Throughout the day, we took part in activities to help us reflect on the meaning of remembrance and to honour those who have served.

As part of the day, we came dressed in 1940s attire and took part in a special assembly.

Children in Year 6 sketched poppies and applied their mark making skills using half pencil and half colour.  We also learnt about what life was like in the trenches for the soldiers and designed our own medals to honour the bravery of those who fought for our country.  As part of the day we looked at and recited the poems ‘The inquisitive mind of a child’ and In Flanders Fields.
