Wellbeing & Mental Health
Here at New Ford we place high value on children’s personal development and Mental Health & Wellbeing.
As a part of their school learning and experiences, we have class and whole school assemblies that pick up these theme in terms of knowledge and skills that will support their own Mental Health and Personal Development both now and in the future.
This week’s Wednesday assembly focused on World Mental Health Day 10th October 2024.
We had a special whole school assembly that took place in classrooms to support discussion and sharing of ideas, alongside what was in the news this week.
We thought about what is meant by mental health and wellbeing and what strategies can help us to manage and support our Mental Health.
We also explored the concept of feeling lonely and what we can do to support & solve those feelings.
We also revisited how we use Worry Monsters in school to share and encourage talking in school about things we find difficult.
