Learning in Action

Before half term year 3 enjoyed a fabulous trip to the Woseley Centre in Stafford to complete their river field work. We used our knowledge from our Geography lessons to discuss the different parts of a river and which features we would see. We then investigated the similarities and differences between rivers and lakes by observing and assessing the speed and PH of the water and investigating what creatures live in both areas by pond dipping to find them!

The Reception classes went on a Geography walk to look for signs of Spring. There were lots of changes to be seen. We also spotted butterflies and hover flies!

Our children love to explore a variety of skills in Geography.

As a part of learning within Geography, there are also links made with the environment, forest schools and ways to make a positive contribution.
