Personal Development Activity Week
The last week in school, in the summer term 2025, once again culminated in an exciting personal development week.
Many of our children took part in Circus skills workshops and music too, in order to broaden their skills and experiences.

We had a visit from Judge Fletcher who worked across multiple year groups culminating in live debates on topical issues. Here is what some of our children said about their experiences:
Cooper: I likes Judge Fletcher visiting because it was really competitive and i liked how serious he was. It made me feel like I was in a real court room. He was also very kind because he listened to everyone's opinions.
Du'Aa: I think Judge Fletcher was good because when we were giving our reasons about deforestation he would listen to us and not interrupt when we were talking. At the end he was saying about what we need to work on if er were every in court: like our balance of what we were saying. He said he liked the quality of our arguments and how we were arguing.
Archie: Judge Fletcher came in to have a debate about homework. We had to bounce our debate like tennis. I was for homework so I was talking about why we should have homework, but the against side would say why we shouldn't have it. We had to call Judge ' Your Honour'. Every time someone from 'for' or 'against' side stood up someone else had to say something about that reason.
Mohib - I really enjoyed the experience because it felt like a real courtroom experience when we sat on the chairs to debate and David was wearing the outfit that a judge would wear.
Heidi - I think it was really good because the judge made it feel realistic because he was dressed as a judge and he made it feel very professional.
Izzy - I liked that the judge was a real judge and he listened to our argument and he was able to summarise what we said. He was very fair.

Our children also had lots of fun exploring lots of ideas and learning connected with money as part of our Finance Education Week.
From Nursery through to Y6 children have been active in exploring a range of themes through a different activities including role play, budgeting, creating purses and money boxes too in some year groups.
Children have said that they have really enjoyed learning about money, thinking about different ways to pay for things and discussing spending and saving strategies and the difference between needs and wants.
They also got a certificate to put in their Personal Development Folders. Here are some pictures of what they’ve done:

The nursery children enjoyed a fun seaside day in the nursery this week. The wet weather did not stop us! We had a special visit from Dickie Bow the magician, who was really funny, doing many different magic tricks. We watched a Punch and Judy show, had a picnic dinner and played in the sand. We also played different games such as Donkey Derby, Tin Can Alley, Hook a Duck and throwing a hoop over a teddy. It was a really fun-packed, busy day and we were treated to an Ice cream from the Ice cream van too, which was delicious.

In 2024, our Personal Development week included a charity Fun day and a special Careers Day, followed by a money awareness day and two Personal Development Challenge days.

This is what some of our children said:
Henry - I enjoyed when the visitors came in to talk to us about languages!
Maisie - I enjoyed sharing my talents and talking about boxing with Emmanuel.
Jessica - My favourite part of the week was the climbing wall and it was a good feeling climbing all the way to the top.
